TWISTED is actually an amazing book written by Mr. Andrew E. Kaufman.

It is really one of the best books I have read for the past 10 months.

I passed trough 3 or 4 different stages while reading TWISTED!

At fist I was excited about the story since it seems interesting and new.

Then at some point I became suspicious that the author is going to take the easy way out of the story and was a little disappointed.

After that I as impressed that he managed to stay on track and by the end of the book I was amazed by the writer's decisions regarding the end of the story.

I am in love with this book. It is true that the book somehow resembles "Shutter Island" a little, but it has been quite some time since I was put trough all that emotions by just one book! It is definitely worth reading! My final score for the book is 9 out of 10.Marina Spirovahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15896182596715348868noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4949176245567325199.post-56115214567142634202019-01-03T09:07:00.000+02:002019-01-03T09:07:08.963+02:00Review: Tweedledum and Tweedledee (Emma Frost #6) by Willow Rose

Happy New Year everyone!

I wish you all a lot of luck since someone told me these days that there is no sick or poor lucky person in the word.

Now, this year I decided to read more than ever and to post a new review for each and every one of them.

The first book that I read this year is Tweedledum and Tweedledee by Willow Rose.

I am giving 4 out of 5 stars to this book.

The book is nice and entertaining. It is an easy read, I finished it in two days.

I have to say that throughout the book I was sure who was the killer and at the end I was wrong. It is not every day that I am wrong about who the killer is.

The only thing I did not like about the book was the preview on the next book in the series. The personal drama of the main character is a little too much for me. I try to skip it as much as I can, but sometimes you just can't. Given the fact what the next book is going to be about, I may stop reading about Emma Frost for some time, and meet some of the other Willow Rose characters.

This is the most impressive book I've ever read. I haven't got enough words to explain how deeply this book affected me. I have never read something more meaningful than this book. No modern author can write like that.
The fact that this author did not have any engineering education at all, and that he learnt everything from books in the local library make his works even more ingenious. I bow to his genius mind.
I am sorry to confess that most of us today don't have even a fraction of his practical knowledge and ingenuity.

Surprisingly interesting book!

I have to confess that I was surprised by this book. The ideas in it are original and interesting. The YA part is realistic and definitely not too much. The characters are nice and far from predictable.
I have to say that this book left me wanting to read the next one in the series.

I have to say that I am very impressed. The book is amazing. It is funny and witty. It has all the right morals and it actually preaches some great values.
I am amazed and this book is definitely going to my all-time favourite books.

I want to start a new rubric in this book. It is going to be my favourite topic - book quotes!
Every now and then when I see something worth sharing, I am going to post it here, with its respectable number.
For now, I am going to start with my all-time favourite quote:

“Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. an alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.”
― Mitch Albom, The Time KeeperMarina Spirovahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15896182596715348868noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4949176245567325199.post-77481895945963961702018-02-07T20:09:00.001+02:002018-02-08T09:36:15.986+02:00Review: Miss Polly had a Dolly
I can't say I like it....

The book is gruesome in so many ways that I can't even begin to list them.
Somewhere I read that this book is like a car crash, and if I have to be honest, I have to totally agree. It is like looking at a crime scene that is despicable and still you cannot take your eyes off it.
It has a lot of unnecessary pervert scenes that it is unpleasant to read in places. Moreover, I could not quite agree with the reasoning of the killer for choosing his specific victims. The writer does explain at some point in the story, why the valiant does what it does, but still... Her reasoning seems shallow and just made up to me.
I don't know if I am going to read the next in the series.

Come on, really? A story about childen and an eveil clown? King has already did that, and he did it magnificently!

Not the best of books, but good non the less.

I cannot say that I loved the book. The story was nice and the characters were good, but I somehow expected more. I don't know if it is because of the title of the book, but I expected something more like Jack the Ripper, and it was more like Barnaby living in the time of Sherlock.

Probably the only thing that kept me reading was my curiosity. That and the fact that the language of the book was impeccable. I am in awe to Harriet Smart for the way she wrote the book. That beautiful language, the way the characters talked and thought. It made me believe in the story and it made me believe I was really there, listening to them.

That was ingenious!

I can't say that I liked the book.
The idea of the book was great, but the book itself was bad. I think, the end was especially disappointing.
This is the second book I read by this author and it still sucks.
I really hate giving bad reviews, because I have not yet written even a short story myself. I appreciate all the effort the writer has put to complete the story, and that's the only reason I am giving it two stars. That, and the fact that I got the book free on Amazon. Nevertheless, if I had payed any amount of money for it, I would have been honestly mad and critical to the writing and the development of the story.
I am sad to say that this would provably be the last I read by this author.

You know what, I have a hard week ahead of me. It's going to be very stressful and very exhausting. In a way the past year of my work is going to be exposed at the end of this week. I am stressed and angry with all the people what try to put me down and sabotage me, no matter if it is willingly or unwillingly.
So today I tried to find a good anger management quote, to repeat as a mantra throughout this week and as far as I can see this is going to be it:

The best fighter is never angry

- Lao Tzu

I hope that this quote will help fight my way to victory this week!
I like the rain so much. I love sitting on the balcony, cuddled in a fluffy blanket with a cup of hot coffee in one hand and a good book in the other, reading to the sound of the falling rain.

To all the people out there, who dream the same dreams as me, I wish a rainy, warm ready weekend!
Dear readers,

I don't know about you, but I am a big fan of reading books. I assume, if you have taken the time to go trough my blog, you have already seen that. I love to read books from almost all genres and from time to time it is really hard for me to decide what to read next. If I have to be completely honest, that

was the reason why I started writing this blog. The problem is that as old as the blog is, I still feel out of my debt with it. I am trying to organize and optimize it and believe me, I know that I am not doing a great job.

One of the things I have in my To Do List, is to reorganize the labels and the categories better. I am planing to end up with a lot shorter list, which will allow you, my readers to find what you are looking for more easily.

Having that in mind, I posted a poll! I would be happy to know what types of book do you like to read.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

I wish you all a great day!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book!
The fact is that my mum gave me the book 1 year ago. It was hard for me to start it. I have started reading the book three or four times. I don't know why I couldn't continue reading it in the past. Once I started it the last time and passed the first 60 pages, I just couldn't let it go.

Mr. Berry did an amazing job. I am speechless.
The book was so interesting and fast pacing. It was cleverly written and it was sooo informative. The Emperor's Tomb made me start on the Cotton Malone series.
What I like the most about this book is that most of the information, which is used in the book is true and by reading it, one can really enrich him or herself.

Thank you mummy, for providing me whit the nice adventure of reading about China.
And... thank you Mr. Berry for making this trip with Cotton so pleasant and so beneficial. I can't wait to see where else your books will take me.

The Death Sculptor by Chris Carter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's not a bad book. I like the way Chris Carter writes and this book is as good as the first 3 in the series. The book has a lot of unexpected twists for a crime novel. It really reminds me of "Criminal Minds" with all the cruel serial killers and Robert the psychologist.

As far as the plot goes, I am very happy the this is the forth book that I read by Chris Carter, and although there is a hint of personal drama and love and so on, it stays only there, as hint. It was the same with the previous 3 books and the case is still the same. I am happy the Mr. Carter did not spoil a good crime story with a lot of the main character's feelings and emotions.

In short the book is well written and easy to enjoy. The only problem that I have with the way Carter writes is that he does not give the reader access to all the evidences. He says something like: Robert looked at the sheet in front of him and he finally saw it. But we don't know what is on that stupid paper. The writer does not give his readers a chance of solving the crimes by themselves.
